We are all aware these are unprecedented times we are living in. As all of our 14 Hogarths have had to close their doors (for the time being we will be back) we all need to work together to help us end this crisis as quickly as possible and STAY HOME. To highlight the importance of this our parent company has come up with the slogan S-H-I-N-E

We ask people show their respect and support to the dedicated few that are working through this crisis. This is done in 3 easy steps:

  1. Simply display a homemade poster with the word “SHINE” (even better if you get your children to make this with you)
  2. Decorate your window with Christmas lights
  3. Continue to follow Government advice: Stay At Home, Wash Hands Frequently for 20 seconds, don’t touch your face and practice social distancing when you have to go out.

Christmas lights are a symbol of light, good and hope. Christmas is celebrated in December as it is in the middle of the darkest winter months, so to give people encouragement and hope Christians chose this time to celebrate to help each other through the dark winter.

This is our exact message here, the world seems to be a pretty scary place at the moment, but by all working together and giving each other encouragement to follow the rules we will get through this quickly.

We may not be able to control what’s going on in the outside world but we can still control how we can show support and how we react inside our homes.

So come on and SHINE, open the loft hatch and dig out the lights to display in your windows, when the night shift workers are either returning or leaving for their frontline work you can brighten up their journey and light up their way.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our customers and staff and we are therefore doing the following:

  • Making sure soap is available in our toilets.
  • Making sure we clean our bar surfaces and key contact points within our pub throughout the day
  • Before trading we will sanitise all hard surfaces
  • Staff have undertaken a Coronavirus safety course and will sanitise throughout the day

What you can do:

  • Clean your hands throughly using soap or hand sanitiser. Wash for a minimum of 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your face
  • If you are displaying symptoms please follow government guidelines and practice social distance.

We will continue to monitor Government advice and we will act accordingly in line with UK best practice.

Cheers, Hogarths
